Company Policies

Health & Safety

Bonds Builders and Contractors Ltd recognise and accepts its obligations to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our employees and to provide such information, training and supervision as they need for this purpose. We also accept our responsibility for the Health and Safety of other people who may be affected by our activities. Our construction methods are designed to minimise and where possible completely eliminate risks.

We employ the services of an outside specialist Health and Safety Advisor. Internally, Martin Ward our Health and Safety Director reports directly to the Managing Director. Sites are thoroughly inspected on a regular basis and any matters requiring attention are reported to the respective manager for immediate action.

Bonds Builders and Contractors Ltd considers Health and Safety training very important and various training courses are run for the employees and others on our sites. These range from basic safety inductions though to specific safety management courses.

Our Health and Safety policy will be kept up to date, particularly as the business changes in nature and size. To ensure this, the policy and the way in which it is operated, will be reviewed annually.

We are fully aware of our commitments under the CDM regulations and constantly strive to maintain our unblemished Health and Safety record on site through a continuing programme of training and information exchange.

Environmental Policy

Bonds Builders and Contractors Ltd recognise the need to control our operations in a manner which reflects good environmental management and we are committed to continual improvement.

We develop specific management procedures to ensure environmental issues are considered at site level.

Bonds Builders and Contractors Ltd ensure that all waste, hazardous or otherwise is transported and disposed of correctly and in an environmentally acceptable manner. All our carriers are licensed and certified.

All arrangements are made on site to minimise noise, dust, emission of pollutants, traffic disruption and disturbance to the general public.

We work closely with external environmental companies in an effort to use where possible sustainable products and to harmonise our operations with the surrounding environment. We actively promote the BREEAM "Ecohomes" initiative on all new schemes.

Industrial Relations

The company recognises the need for the establishment and the maintenance of good industrial relations throughout the organisation. Positive policies are pursued in communication, training and safety to ensure the best possible working environment for our employees. Employees are actively encouraged to carry out continuing programmes of training and improvement. We strive to ensure our employees reach a sense of achievement and commitment and that this, in turn, will enable them to contribute further to the ongoing success of Bonds Builders.

Good relationships are held with all applicable trade union bodies, CITB etc.
